Fundraising Code of Ethics


1. We will operate this ministry as stewards of God’s resources. It belongs to Him. All provisions, or lack thereof, will be under his control.
2. The Hill family does not own Timothy Hill Children's Ranch. The THCR is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization operated under the direction of a board of directors.
3. We will present our needs in an honest and respectful manner. We will never resort to begging, manipulating, or violating common civility to reach our funding goals.
4. We will value and respect all contributions no matter size in the manner of Christ as He praised the widow’s two coins in Luke 21. All money will be spent in the most efficient and accountable manner possible.
5. We will never sell, rent, or share our donor mailing list or personal information to any institution for any reason.
6. Fund-raising staff will not be paid a percentage of donations. All staff will receive a set salary for any services provided.
7. Our financial reports and data will be available for audit at any time. Donors and the general public are welcome to ask questions concerning expenditures, projects or budgets and reserve the right to receive honest and open answers.

Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch respects the privacy of each individual who contacts us. We are grateful for your support and the crucial role you play in helping us continue our valuable work. As part of our commitment to safeguarding your privacy we have adopted the online privacy policy outlined below.

    We collect two kinds of information, site usage data, which is not individually identifiable, and individually identifiable information.

    Our Web server automatically recognizes and collects the domain name of each visitor to our Web site.     Timothy Hill Children's Ranch does not share any information with third parties.

    Email Communications

    We occasionally send out an email newsletter and direct email communications to our database, information and opportunities available from the Timothy Hill Children's Ranch. You can elect not to receive communications from us, either emailing us at info@timothyhillranch.org or by noting your preference in response to communications from us. In addition, all Timothy Hill Children's Ranch e-newsletters and direct email communications have easy-to-follow unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

    Our site provides links to other Web sites where you can find out more about our sponsors or products. Please note that the Ranch is not responsible for the information practices of linked sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of each site you visit.

    Children online

    Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we adhere to the 1998 Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Whenever we collect or maintain information at our Web site from those we actually know are under 13, we obtain parental consent before any personally identifiable information is collected, used or disclosed. We also follow strict rules when sending email; and we provide parents reasonable access to information collected from their children, and the ability to correct or remove that information.

    Security

    In order to prevent unauthorized access and protect our users’ personal information, we strive to maintain physical, electronic and administrative safeguards to secure the information we collect online. For example, online contributions are processed using a secure server. This secure server software, SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Furthermore, all of the customer transactional data we collect is protected against unauthorized access with the use of digital certificates.
